Who We are
Our Farm
In 2016, Craig and Julie Miner left the West Coast and city life forever. Craig was an over the road truck driver and Julie was a nurse. Both of them wanted to relocate their family to a smaller community where they could afford to buy a home and live a more healthy, sustainable life. They finally realized their dream in 2018 and bought a 10 acre farm in beautiful Central VA. Treebarn came about after they saw the old broken down barn on their property with a large tree rooted in the side of it.
Our animals
We have many animals on our farm that contribute so much to its character. We have lots of dogs (14!), a menagerie of barn cats, cows, goats, horses and donkeys. Julie's love for her dogs extends to researching rare breeds and participating in dog sports such as AKC Earthdog and Barnhunts. Craig has an interest in commercial pigs and producing high quality meat for the family and community.

Our Farming Practices
At Treebarn Farm, we believe that pasture raised animals are the most ethical way to feed our family and yours. All of our animals have large and spacious areas to roam where they can live comfortably in a stress free environment. We support locally owned businesses to feed our animals and use a local butcher to process our meat. We believe strongly that people deserve an alternative to factory farms, who typically practice inhumane confinement of their animals and use production methods that deliver inferior food to families.
Our Community
Central Virginia is a beautiful area of the country with a strong network of local businesses and farms that produce livestock, dairy products, and home grown items. When we moved to this area in 2017, we found a community of people that offered advice and helped us to learn how to do things. Our family had never lived in a rural setting or owned a farm, so we had a steep learning curve! We are still learning new things everyday.
